The
Summer Palace is very big and it will take many days if you are ambitious enough to see
all the scenic spots here. There're also many places you can visit if you have time. For
examples the Suzhou Street in the Rear Hill and Rear Lake.
In the past, many
eunuchs disguised themselves as traders, and the emperors may come here to do some
shopping or have some other fun. It was called "Business Street" at that time.
In the 1980s, the
Suzhou Street was restored and expanded to 45,000 square meters, it turned out a new look
while maintaining the essence of the street. Here, you can't use cash but have to change
the cash into traditional Chinese coins in the old "bank". Everywhere in the
Suzhou Street, you have to use those antique like coins for souvenirs or simply a cup of
tea.
This makes things
more complicated, but there's a lot more fun. |
